Armies on Display: Lord Celestant

Man, what a two weeks. Between work and selling/buying a house, my hobby time has been pretty limited. Oh, and my brother let me borrow FF15.... so yeah.

But I managed to finish my Lord Celestant from the AoS starter box, BEHOLD!!!

This may have been the most complex model that I have worked on yet, as fitting a center piece and general. I followed the guide found at WarhammerTV aiming to learn the techniques that GW is pushing. Overall, I really love the color scheme and the new techniques I learned will make it into my normal painting routine.

Some warnings about the model. If you are just starting out in the hobby, take your time and buy some green stuff before hand. Trying to get the pieces to fit perfectly can be a very trying time. Some of this may have been negated if I dry fitted pieces before using. I also realized to late that I should have sanded down the green stuff after it dried. I recommend painting the rider separately from the mount. It will make your life easier!

Despite being a difficult model to put together and paint, I am very satisfied with this model. Like I said before, this is the first time that I did a model such as this one and I look forward to challenging my skills in the future.

Two things I need to work on: Thinning my paint correctly and applying green stuff.

What models have you completed recently?
